Check out all the fun we had this summer at the library! We had volunteer guest readers from the community and a great kickoff event with “Jammin’ Randy Sauer” performing his interactive show titled “Beachball Party.” Jim Oss was game to dress up as our resident “Pirate from the Caribbean” to read stories and teach kids how to say “Aaaargh!” We also had “Pirate Sarah” Wixom via video (posted also on this website) to help us make a paper a boat with a funny story attached to it. Larry Hixson read us stories about walruses and explored the library with kids to check out books. Marla Matkin read the new children’s book she wrote called “A Dragon’s Tale” based on the ancient plesiosorus found near Fort Wallace, Kansas–where there was actually an ocean millions of years ago! Thanks to everyone who participated in our workshops this summer.
